Uniform Complaint Procedure and Nondiscrimination Statement[up]
The Centinela Valley Union High School District is committed to principles of equal opportunity and nondiscrimination. Each student has the right of equal access to an education, and each employee has the right of equal employment opportunity, without discrimination on the basis of sex, race, color, national origin, or disability. Harassment of students or employees on the basis of any of these characteristics creates unequal opportunities because it interferes with a student’s or employee’s education or work performance, and it creates an atmosphere of intimidation and hostility. Such discriminatory harassment is therefore a violation of District policy and may result in disciplinary actions ranging from verbal reprimand to dismissal or expulsion. The District will neither condone nor tolerate such harassment. The District assures employees and students that no disciplinary or retaliatory action will be taken against anyone as a result of their expression of concerns regarding racial/ethnic incidents or tensions, or who has filed a discrimination complaint with the District or with governmental compliance agencies, or who has asserted his or her rights to be free from unlawful discrimination. The District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin (including race/ethnic harassment), sex (including sexual harassment), disability, or age in any of its policies, procedures, or practices. This nondiscrimination policy covers admission and access to, and treatment and employment in District program and activities, including vocational education. Inquiries regarding equal opportunity policies or District complaint procedures may be directed to:
